Gama Cardiac AR

Background

INEFFECTIVE WAYS OF LEARNING CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
One of the challenges in studying human anatomy is an accurate depiction in understanding every part of human anatomy. For each body part, a full visual access is needed to understand how the organ works, where to and from it is connected to blood vessels, nerves, and other organs. Limitations of learning media, such as cadaver, leads to low understanding for medical students. The difference between the image in a textbook and a human heart can cause confusion and slow down the learning process along the way. Implementing Augmented Reality has proven to be a way of gaining better understanding in heart anatomy.

Solution

IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES IN CARDIOLOGY THROUGH NEW IMMERSIVE AND INTERACTIVE ELEARNING EXPERIENCES
GAMA CARDIAC AR, an innovative augmented reality application designed by ARUTALA to assist medical students in cardiovascular studies FK-KMK UGM. This is an interactive and attractive augmented reality application to increase engagement in learning heart anatomy. Combination of real and virtual images helps students gain precise understanding in a spectacular way. Visualize and perceive each part of the heart anatomy in a three-dimensional vision. The module in the application presents materials such as anterior and posterior, internal, heart valve, right atrium, left atrium, coronary circulation, and conduction system which of course is presented with 3D visualization. Materials are also adjusted based on students’ abilities with the division of beginner and intermediate levels, which is also applied to the quiz menu.

key features

Gama Cardiac AR main features
– Realistic Virtual Heart Model
– Adjustable Levels of Studying
– Enhance Learning Efficiency
Cardiac AR developed to make medical students learn independently and to complement the conventional learning (text books) about anatomical atlases.
